ST. PIUS X CYOVOLLEYBALL GRADES 3RD-8TH
Welcome to the CYO Club activities page! Along with nearly 40 other CYO Clubs in Western Oregon and Southwest Washington we are proud to participate in a number of sports and student activities with the Catholic Youth Organization/Camp Howard. You'll find current activity and registration information for your school or club right here so bookmark this page and check back often throughout your season! Exceptions An exception is a player who does not attend St. Pius X School -or- St. Pius X Parish -or- St. Juan Diego Parish. Two exceptions are allowed per team. Exceptions are not always taken. Team Breakout We cannot have a team without a coach, so we will need to have volunteers willing to coach. If there are 2 or more teams per grade, the teams will be created based on the following: Grades 3 - 5: Equitable split based on ability. The goal is to have 2 or more equally talented teams. These teams will be put in the CYO bracket (Blue, Green, or Orange) based on the playing ability of the team. Grades 6 – 8: There will be 1 “A” team for upper talent playing in one of the more competitive CYO brackets (girls teams only). Tryout Schedule8th Grade Girls: Tryouts on 9/4 during practice slot 7th Grade Girls: Tryouts on 9/5 during practice slot 6th Grade Girls: Tryouts on 9/6 during practice slotAll players need to attend the tryouts. Failure to attend will result in the athlete playing on the “B” team. The only exception is an approved illness or injury that is approved by the AD. In this case, prior year evaluation and player’s skill level will be used for placement. Tryouts are conducted by an independent evaluator the first week of the school year. These tryouts are for both equitable split teams and ability-based teams. Coaches do not split up the teams and must not be present. Parents (including perspective coaches) are not present. Based on outcome of evaluations, the AD will communicate the teams to all registered players.

We are using the same jerseys as last year, so if you have a jersey that fits, you do NOT need to purchase another. Uniforms need to be ordered in time for the first tournament on 9/14
