A message about the Sister Krista Endowed Fund

For the past 25 years, CYO/Camp Howard has been blessed to be led by Sr. Krista von Borstel, SSMO as Executive Director. During her tenure, programs and facilities expanded and participation has grown to more than 12,000 youth each year in CYO/Camp Howard activities.

To celebrate her passionate and continued dedicated service to youth (she’s not planning to retire), the Board of Directors initiated the establishment of The Sr. Krista von Borstel Endowed Fund. This Fund will be a permanent testament to making formative, happy memory, faith experiences possible for kids whose families cannot afford CYO or Camp Howard activities. With the help of friends like you, the Board is setting a goal of $250,000.

CYO/Camp Howard has a priority to build a sizable Endowment. The Sr. Krista Endowed Fund will be part of the Endowment. Earnings from investing Endowment funds will be used to provide financial assistance for needy youth participants. The Endowment will be a reliable source of support to keep CYO/Camp Howard programs affordable and accessible for future generations.

We have some exciting news to encourage YOUR support. An anonymous donor has agreed to match all donations to the Sr. Krista Fund contributed by June 30, up to a total of $50,000. The gifts of many – large and small – will enable us to reach the $250,000 Sr. Krista Fund goal.
