At Camp Howard, we believe that the summer camp experience should be a place where the lives of our campers and staff are transformed, where meaningful social, spiritual, and emotional growth for all is the standard, and where everyone in our community is valued and celebrated for the person they are. Both individual development, and group and community connection, are valued and fostered. Camp Howard believes that a positively impactful summer camp experience can change individuals and communities– both in and out of camp – for good.

 

NEW STAFF APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT TWO REFERENCES TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR HIRE.

 References must be from previous or current employers, teachers, coaches, or youth ministers.

Camp Staff Requirements

  • High School Diploma, equivalent, or active enrollment in school
  • Experience working in camps, with children, or with specific activities may be preferred
  • Physical ability and endurance to participate in activities, run, climb, swim, lift, or support the weight of children
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Adherence to the Camp Howard Staff Dress Code
  • High level of responsibility and accountability
  • Upbeat, engaging personality, and an enthusiasm for working with youth
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Cabin Counselor

Camp Howard's staff is the most essential piece in creating opportunities for everyone at camp to grow, connect, and have fun. We work diligently to ensure,  our staff are supported, cared for, and given the resources to excel in their roles which will allow our community to thrive.
