March 12, 2020 – (Portland, OR)
The safety, health and wellbeing of our participants, volunteers and staff is our highest priority.
Over the past week, CYO has monitored the events and policy updates taking place in the state of Oregon. Governor Brown has issued a statement prohibiting group gatherings larger than 250, along with various sports programs such as OSAA to slow coronavirus transmission and spread of the COVID-19 disease.
CYO has made the decision to postpone the remainder of the 7th and 8th grade basketball tournament. We will work to reschedule the remainder of the tournament games on April 27, 28, 29, 30, May 1, 3 based on availability of facilities.
CYO will also reschedule the Saturday, March 14th Track and Field Clinic, date to-be-determined.
At this time, all CYO practices for Basketball, Track and Field, Baseball and Lacrosse programs are suspended until further notice, aligning with Governor Brown’s policy directive for the State of Oregon.
Our hope and prayers are that our actions will contribute to aiding virus containment along with beginning our spring CYO season as soon as is practical. Please check our website cyocamphoward.org to stay updated with any new information.
